Progression
Deb arrived for a second round of Christmas. Abe's favorite gift (besides Grandma visiting) was a set of Duplos. Jeff builds them up and Abe tears them down.

Abe had a play date the other day with Iris. Luckily there were enough Duplos to go around.

Abe's is now putting food in his mouth, in addition to Christmas tree needles, cat hair, and other inedibles. Meals are often a rapid progression into messiness.

We head to Lewisburg a couple times a month for some major grocery shopping. What was once a torturous tear-filled trip for all is now a quiet, scenic drive thanks to his new car seat.

Abe keeps us both busy and keeping up with regular tasks like bills and dishes can seem insurmountable some days. Jeff found us simple bill/mail organizer, which I modified slightly and now hangs neatly on on the wall serving its purpose.

Just for fun.

Christmas
We had a nice Christmas at home. Santa came and filled our stockings with candy and goodies, and brought Abraham lots of toys, clothes, and books.

Since Abe watches us with our laptops, we figured we'd start him early. He bangs on the buttons and moves the mouse all around- we figure he'll have the thing reprogrammed by the new year.

Uncle Chris is down from New York City. Marlinton is pretty quiet this time of year, but luckily Abraham keeps us all pretty busy and entertained.

One of Abe's favorite places used to be the changing table. Now we have to work pretty hard on turning that frown upside down.

Snow!
We received about 28" of snow from last weekend's storm and have been playing in it since! We had a nice 1/2 mile loop around the perimeter of our yard/ranger station/horse pasture/cemetery.

This is Abe's biggest storm since the day he was born. He's been both cross-country skiing and sledding so far, but mostly we just think the white is a nice backdrop to take his picture.

Abe is constantly exploring everything. He has the crawling thing down, and we're waiting for what is next.
Here is a little song to hum throughout the holiday season, a little verse written for Abraham (to the tune of O Tannenbaum).
O Abraham O Abraham,
Much pleasure you do bring us!
For every day that you are here,
Our love is always near.
O Abraham O Abraham,
Much pleasure you do bring us!
O Abraham O Abraham,
We love to watch you grow up.
You crawl around and chase the cats,
You pull and pull when you wear hats.
O Abraham O Abraham,
We love to watch to you grow up.
O Abraham O Abraham,
We are so very lucky.
You make us laugh you make us cry,
We love you more each day goes by.
O Abraham O Abraham,
We are so very lucky.

Merry Christmas!
December already
Time flies. It really does. Abe is almost 9 months and has more than doubled in size since he was born! He is crawling all over, grabbing everything- the coffee table, books, Christmas tree, shoes, cat tails, toys- anything within reach. We quickly realized that Christmas decorations and baby proofing do not go well together.

Occasionally he'll exhaust himself.

We've been gearing up for Christmas- putting up the tree and the stockings with care, getting ready for some family visits, and taking pictures that we can torture Abe with in 15 years.

This morning Sarah got out of the office and into the field to witness a helicopter logging operation. Quite the show.
