Our happy little man

Everyone that meets Abraham comments what a happy baby he is. Abe has been a happy baby from day one, but only lately has he truly been able to laugh, smile, and squeal to his full potential-keep in mind his full potential grows daily. Below are some of our recent favorites, as well as ones that we just couldn't leave out.

Really, we do get out of the house and do things besides take pictures of Abe. Last night we went to the Pocahontas Opera House where Abe sat/slept through his first concert, folk singer John McCutcheon.

Wild, Wonderful

After a particularly ugly drive to Lewisburg and back, which Abraham is learning to loathe because it's basically an hour long set of tight switchbacks and he's facing backwards the whole time, we returned with WV plates and a couple of AZ plates to hang on the wall. When I lived on Maggard St in Iowa City, the neighbors had a couple of AZ plates above the door of their shed. I always thought that was cool. All cool things in time, I guess.

Abe's pretty excited to be a Mountaineer.

That's our new "local" number. Seriously. Give it a try!

Before the dust settles

I thought I'd post a quick update while Abe's napping. It's been a somewhat chaotic, yet oddly relaxing, few weeks. The cats are growing accustomed to the house and the neighbors are getting used to us.

Before the movers arrived we got to do a bit of recreating on the Greenbrier River; our old friend and Flag neighbor, Sean, an Elkins, WV native, stopped by for a quick visit; and we got to enjoy the neighborhood scenery.

Things got a bit busier once Phillip and the big truck arrived. Getting in the driveway was a bit tight, but that's why truck drivers get the big bucks. Right now we're probably unpacking an average of about two to three boxes per day. Should be moved in sometime in November.

There's a huge garden next to the house, part of which is being used by one of Sarah's coworkers, Angie, who also moved to Marlinton from Flagstaff, about a year ago. Sarah's been clearing a few rows for us to start on our fall garden.

Abe's taking it all in stride. I'm loving life as a stay-at-home dad. Not hard to see why, huh?
